What a busy month August is going to be for our club members. This was acknowledged by District Governor Elect - Tim Mee when he and Jill came to visit last week to share Rotary’s work in the Ukraine. While Tim has visited us before, he had taken the time to learn about the events and projects we have been and are currently involved in and the chat over the meal was all related to our extensive work within Rotary. This brings us to the meeting on Tuesday 5th - Club Share - How much do you know about all the projects we are involved in? Can you share some information on any/all? And what do we know about our members? - not just the new ones who have shared their ‘Getting to know you’ in the last 6 months. Tuesday’s meeting is an opportunity to hear from those involved in a range of projects (more than described at the recent assembly) and then to learn a few things about our fellow members. There are also some questions to be answered - questions that have been raised by you in the past few weeks - we will have someone from the club respond to them - and we will all be able to increase our knowledge about Rotary a little. John organised a great 2 page spread in The Murray Valley Standard last Thursday covering the Aged and Carers Expo on Thursday 7th August. Well done John - with over 30 stalls, we are all set for a great day - disseminating information to the wider community - showing support, guidance and providing connections to many services and organisations from across the region. Turn the page in The Standard, and we see Rotarian Jim Cundy being publicly recognised with his award at the 2025 Festival of Quilts - Well done Jim Have you organised your guests for the Hamlin Fistula High Tea on Sunday 17th August? Please ensure your guests let Marg know - for catering purposes - we would hate to have too little food on the day. Remind those unable to attend, of the option of being able to donate in lieu of attendance and the information for this is in the Bulletin. The Blood donation van rolls into Murray Bridge 18th-21st August - one more date to add to your diaries during an already busy month. Remember that 1 in 3 people will need blood and they need people like all of us to donate it. Don’t forget to pre-book your spot at donateblood.com.au, on their mobile app, or on 13 14 94. The van will be at John Dohler Hall, 31 Swanport Rd Murray Bridge from 18th to the 21st August And Remember “ The ability of a group of people to do remarkable things hinges on how well these people pull together as a team” - Simon Sinek - Sound like Rotary ‘Unite for Good’ Have a great week Roxanne |
