Welcome all to our new Rotary year 2026-27, I am excited to be back in the Presidents position and looking forward to a great year working with our Rotary Club of Murray Bridge which I am very proud of. With every new year the president is required to present their strategic plan for the upcoming 12 months, after discussions with the Committee Directors & President Roxanne my Strategic plan was presented and accepted by the Board at our June meeting 2026. 

Meeting 3662 our President Changeover evening went very well, I have been very happy with the great comments being received from the evening. The night did deliver some surprises for attendees not knowing they would receive an award, it is very important we acknowledge people for the great work they deliver even if they appear to not want any thanks, it shows gratitude and respect.

  Special guest Aleisha Spurling, a talented multi-instrumentalist and previous recipient of the Murray Bridge High School Rotary Music Bursary Award, shared an inspiring story detailing how community encouragement and Rotary's support have shaped her musical journey. She concluded her presentation with a live musical performance showcasing her dedication to the craft.

  President Simon presented Past President Roxanne with her year’s theme banner, yearbook & gift, then delivered his induction speech ending with introducing the new 2026-27 Board of Directors.

Note from President Simon: This is my second opportunity as President of our Rotary Club of Murray Bridge, my first was in 2020-2021 when we were all in lockdown due to the Covid-19. This was an experience all of us will remember, we had to adapt to achieve outcomes differently and we survived. We as a club managed through weekly zoom meetings while still in our own homes, until returning to in-person meetings late February 2021. To take up this opportunity will be a new experience, I am looking forward to my year ahead working with our members who are more than just Rotarians, to me they are part of my special family. I am excited & looking forward to a great year ahead working as a Team with all our Members & Friends, together we all can make a difference creating opportunities through Service above Self.

This event will be a celebration of what has been achieved this Rotary year under District Governor Rajeev and an opportunity to be inspired towards what’s ahead in 2026-27
