Club Assembly on Tuesday was very interesting. Our Directors didn’t disappoint with their reports of what they have planned for this Rotary Year. There is an enthusiasm for our continuing projects such as Buy a Smile, Zoos Collaboration, Music for Dementia , Calperum and recycling together with proposed projects we can look forward to another busy year. Talking about recycling, our Club has been presented with a certificate of appreciation from Breadtags for Wheelchairs for our outstanding effort in collection and colour sorting of breadtags. Thank you to Roxanne and Wayne for taking the recycling items into Adelaide.
I have been reminded by PP Sally Willoughby about the Domestic & Family Violence campaign run by District and the proposed Walk for Respect on Saturday September 14th. This walk was successful last year with some of our members taking part and it is hoped that perhaps more of us can join this year walking behind our banner. More information to come.
Sadly our proposed visit to Mojo Stickers isn’t going to eventuate next Tuesday but Jack Reddin and Marg Whitehead will give a presentation about their working holiday to Kalamurina Station. If like me, you don’t know anything about this, come along to the Bridgeport on Tuesday evening and find out about what is happening.
I hope you are all keeping warm and cheering on our Aussie athletes as they compete in the Olympic Games.
Talking about cheering on - what a great win on Friday night - Go Power

Bread Tags For Wheelchairs
One of our recycling projects is the collection of bread tags.
The story below was published on Facebook and demonstrates the difference we can make.
We have now collected 13 tonnes of bread tags for recycling. That's more than the weight of two African elephant bulls!
This photo was taken at Addo, an elephant reserve in the Eastern Cape in South Africa, close to where we have provided some of our wheelchairs.
Can't believe we have shifted a couple of elephants over the last 5 years!
