WEEKLY CHATTER – 12th MAY 2024

It was good to revisit our 70th Birthday, reminiscing for those who attended and a catch-up for those unable to attend the event. Thanks to Jenny and Robin for organising the evening. Thank you to Area Governor Tim Klar for attending our meeting and for his support throughout the year.

Robin has just received a Double Ruby PHF, well done Robin for all the effort you put into Rotary with the Club and District! Invitations have now been circulated for the Changeover so don’t forget to reply so we can get organised. This week is the last week for the Art Show so don’t miss out. Have you replied to Guess Who’s Coming to Lunch on Sunday 2nd June the success of this depends on you coming? You might also bring the wine you get for $90.00 per dozen.

Guess Who's Coming To Lunch?

WE NEED ADDITIONAL GUESTS!!

The popular "Guess Who's Coming To Lunch" event is back for 2024.

All it needs is your participation!

The concept is that we have a number of Luncheon Hosts who cater for six additional guests.

Twist is that you wont know who's coming until the guests arrive.

The hosts will provide at least a two course meal with guests supplying their own refreshments.

Hosts do not pay but each attendee will contribute $35 as a fundraiser for our DG's Partner Program.

To make this work we need the following.

Guests willing to enjoy a meal, conversation and have fun

When will this happen?

Set aside Sunday 2nd June and be prepared to arrive at your hosts home at 12 midday.

Please contact Robin LeGallez to indicate your availability as a Host or Guest.

Rotary Learning Weekend

Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May has been a weekend of learning for the coming Rotary year. Murray Bridge Rotary Club was represented by five members who heard from many presenters who particularly focused on the upcoming pilot which will see a change in the way Rotary is managed with increased opportunity for Club to collaborate and instead of replication of roles across our Zone. A Regional Council with a range of specialists will provide support to Clubs and Members. This is an exciting time as District Governor Elect, Marie-louise Lees introduced the annual theme "The Magic Of Rotary".

Art Show Opening

The Murray Bridge Regional Gallery was home to the official opening of the Murray Bridge Rotary Art Show. Sunday's large gathering heard from Judge Maz McGann who provided insights into her decision making. First Prize in the 2D section known as the Jean Simms Art Prize was Carole Bann (Whence it came). First Price in the 3D section was Rose Walker (Afternoon reflection - Murray River). First Prize in the Photographic section know as the Andrew Hay Photographic Prize was Jasmin Feneley (In flight). A full list of winners will appear shortly on the web page https://www.murraybridgeartshow.com.au/ . Congratulations to all winners and those who entered the exhibition. The Gallery is open all week with the exemption of Mondays. Please visit and enjoy this wonderful display.
