NYSF CEO, Dr. Melanie Bagg, has been presented with a Governor General’s medallion by the Chair of the NYSF Board, the Honourable Kate Lundy, “Their Excellencies wanted to see the medallion presented to someone who has contributed in a significant way to the efforts of the NYSF throughout 2020. Melanie has demonstrated resilience, stamina, creativity and strength in her leadership of the NYSF in a year that has ushered forth so many unforeseen, complex challenges”.
Kate congratulated the entire NYSF team and presented a certificate from Their Excellencies, joint Patrons of the NYSF:
“Their Excellencies would like to acknowledge and thank the NYSF for your incredible and tireless efforts throughout 2020. This year has been unique and has brought many challenges. Importantly though, for organisations like ours that do so much to create opportunities for young people who love science, technology, engineering and maths, while the 'how' may have changed, the ‘why’ and the ‘who’ have not. We have continued to inspire people, uplift those around us and have made our community better."
In accepting the Medallion, Melanie commented “I am deeply moved and accept this on behalf of the incredible team that I have the honour to lead, they make all that we do possible. They are highly innovative, quiet achievers with a can do attitude even during the toughest of times. I also want to acknowledge our ever supportive NYSF Partners, the NYSF Board and our wonderful Rotary and Student Staff volunteers, all of whom help us to deliver the NYSF magic."
