As you would all be aware of there is a lot of events to take place over the coming months starting with the skate park 4th Feb, Swap Meet 19th Feb, Citroën car club and the Multi Culture Day in March.
I would like to remind members that it is our intention to hold a Rotary Awareness night on the 31st January (Fifth Tuesday) and at this stage Rotarian Kevin has made very successful contact with some of our business operators. I would like you all to supply me with some contacts to make this night worthy. The night will at this stage be finger food and wines at no cost to our guests, so please help me out on this one.
Members will receive a separate email with attachments showing the vocations that past members of our club have held and an introduction letter which may help you when speaking to people.
The Swap Meet is fast approaching and as of this weekend, I am 50% down on members attendance so once again please check your diaries. I will be needing assistance for Saturday afternoon after cricket to set up and take gate money for those that arrive Saturday and Sunday morning oval parking.
DONT FORGET TO BOOK THIS DAY IN YOUR CALENDAR!
A Day In The Grove - Mypolonga
Enjoy a day in the grove at award-winning Rio Vista Olives - a haven found north of Adelaide near the Murray River - and indulge over lunch from three renowned chefs.
Start your Saturday with a sommelier-led tasting and grove tour, going behind the scenes to see how extra virgin olive oil is created. Then prepare to sit back and relax in the grove with a feast created by chefs Mark Best, Jason Roberts and Paul Farag. The trio will use luscious produce from across the Murray River, Lakes and Coorong, with wine parings from Fierce III - the newest label from the Barossa's Lou Miranda Estate.
Best is synonymous with Sydney restaurant Marque, the fine diner named among the world's 50 best for three consecutive years. It also held three hats in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide for a decade, with Best moving on to a range of other culinary ventures when the venue closed in 2016. This legend of the Australian hospitality industry considers Rio Vista olive oil his all-time favourite.
Rotary Clubs in District 9510 will be invited to participate in the Rotary Showcase Expo on Saturday 3rd. June at the Bonython and Elder Halls, University of Adelaide, North Terrace Adelaide.
The Showcase Expo is a free event, and will be promoted to the Public of South Australia, so will be a major opportunity for Rotary Clubs to showcase club projects. Whilst being open to the general public, invitations will also be issued to leading politicians and business leaders.
Rotarians and Rotary Clubs have many great projects to share – this is an opportunity to tell the Rotary story and services.

End Polio Now
In 1985 Rotary launched PolioPlus to immunize every child in the world against polio. Working with our partners and members of the global health community, together we will end polio.
Through the science of vaccines, Rotary & partners have saved nearly 19 million children from becoming paralyzed by polio. Learn more about our work to End Polio Now and how you can get involved: https://on.rotary.org/3eqtrrr
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years, and we’ve made incredible progress in the fight to rid the world of it forever.
It’s crucial to eradicate polio from the last two countries where it remains endemic and to keep other countries polio-free.
If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.
What is polio?
Polio, or poliomyelitis, is a paralyzing and potentially deadly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of 5. The virus spreads from person to person, typically through contaminated water. It can then attack the nervous system.
