WEEKLY CHATTER – 28th JANUARY 2024

What a way to spend on Australia Day serving pancakes at Australia Day, they were well received by those attending.
With a 6.15 am start, it’s with much thanks to Sam and Elizabeth Cozens for organising the event and everyone who helped on the day. It was a great time for fun and fellowship. Once again, I now know what mornings look like.
It’s good news we now have now secured a new home at the Bridgeport Hotel; our first meeting will be there on 13th of February. A huge thank you to John Whimpress for all his work in getting this organised.
With the Meet and Greet meeting on Tuesday night at Imperials Football Club can you please bring a guest along if possible.
There’s plenty happening at the Club coming up so keep an eye on the Bulletin.
Fencing will go ahead again on Monday at Monarto Zoo, meeting at the gate at 8.00am, should you decide to come along contact Rob Walters, lunch is provided.
We are looking for people to help with our 70th birthday anyone with any memorabilia, photos or stories give ether Jenny Phillips or myself a call as there will be a display on the night.
Have a great night Tuesday, unfortunately I am unable to be there so will see you at Sue Foster in a couple of weeks time for the Foundation Night.
President Gordon

"Buy A Smile" Update

"Rotarians Do Good"
Buying a Smile for Nani, who lives in Malaysia, is a Project for our Rotary Club, promoted through the International Committee.

Our Rotary Club recipient of ‘Buy a Smile’ corrective facial surgery, Nani, is now recovering from the operation, and our contact Neil Silver reports that all is well.
Early in February a medical review of the operation on Nani will be undertaken, and in the fulness of time I am confident we will learn more about this young lady as she faces a more certain future in her community in Sandakan, Sabah, a province in Malaysia.” Reported by Sam Cozens on behalf of our International Committee.
