Vital Signs Monitor This is a portable electronic device which is connected to a patient and within a minute has accurately measured and recorded a set of vital signs which reflect the clinical health of the patient. Patient blood pressure, temperature, respiration rate, hypertension diagnosis, and oxygen saturation are vital signs which the machine measures and sends to patient Electronic Medical Records via a WiFi or blue tooth signal. A clinician has access to accurate vital signs information, supporting improved clinical decision making and patient safety. Each set of data is identified from the electronic code carried by the patient, and the electronic code carried by the clinician. The measurement can be a spot check, or continuing monitoring. This device costs about $4000.00, and through our District 9510 Grants system our Rotary Club contribution of $2,000.00 is matched by a Rotary Foundation contribution of $2,000.00. Our Club has recently purchased a Vital Signs Monitor for use within our local Hospital. Rotary District Grants can be used to achieve goals within one or more of the 7 specific Rotary International Areas of Focus, namely; - Promoting Peace
