Meeting Report 3318

President Lesley Murray announced some new projects as part of the Strategic Planning process on Tuesday. Exchange to Cambodia with the Tailem Bend Club, the Purple House Dialysis Unit in the APY Lands, Childreach a project overseen by Katrina Webb in Nepal and a Solis Pump for the Murray Bridge Hospital. Also Stephanie Martin the RYLA Rotary Youth Leadership Exchange District Chair, invited applicants to find the application forms page on line sponsored by your local Rotary Club. It can make such a difference to enable students reach their full potential and become the person they want to be. Happy 92nd Birthday to Ruth Frazer what a champion.

President's Post

President’s Post: Murray’s Musings
It’s a month since the Changeover Dinner and what a whirlwind of learning and activity that month has been!  Thank-you to all who attended the Dinner at the new Bridges Event Centre. What a beautiful venue, it certainly added some glamour to the evening.
Congratulations and thanks to outgoing President, David Altmann and his Board, on a great year, with many wonderful achievements. Thank you to D.G. Kym Harvey, for responding to the International Toast and for her comments. The Rotary Club of Murray Bridge certainly contributed to the District with three of our members being part of the District team: Sam Cozens; Secretary, Robin LeGallez; Electronic Information Systems and Christine Willersdorf, on the District Training Team. Kym also informed us that we had won three District Awards: Congratulations to David and Simon for their involvement in the WASH project and to Robin LeGallez for his brilliant web magic.

Congratulations to Award Winners announced at the Dinner. These awards were certainly deserved for their long-term service and contributions to our Club and to the District.
Paul Harris Fellows; Steve Walker, Rob Walters and Margaret Whitehead.
4 Avenues of Service: Sam Cozens and Robin LeGallez.

Planning is well underway for the new year. Program Manager, Jenny Phillips has been hard at work developing exciting and experience filled weeks ahead. After our first planning meeting, it was adopted that the 5th Tuesday of the month (just 3 months) be a social activity. Jenny has already organised a Ten-pin bowling evening and meal at Bridge Bowl on the 30th June, this should be a great night of fellowship, please make sure you come. Family members are welcome.

Cheers, Lesley

District 9520 News

Advance Notice - Expressions of Interest

cid:image004.jpg@01D4D67F.60A0D250Rotarians in Districts 9500 and 9520 will be sent an email via   ClubRunner in the next few weeks extending an opportunity to complete an Expression of Interest application for a range of positions that will be available in our new District 9510.

Amongst those positions, we are seeking two active Rotarians to fill two new positions that are integral to the success of the new structure.

The position of Deputy Governor, Resources will oversee and support a range of Resource Committees including Youth, Membership, Foundation, Partnerships (Vocational, Community, International, Local Government) Governance (Risk, Insurance, Youth Protection), Diversity and Ethics, our Digital Communications (including website, Public Image and Newsletter) and Learning and Development.

The position of Deputy Governor, Areas will support the Area Governors and coordinate communications and facilitate the support needs of clubs across the 12 Areas.

These two positions will have membership on the District Leadership Board. It is envisaged the successful appointees will work closely together to meet the needs of our clubs and be supported by the District Governor Nominee and District Governor Elect.

Whether you would like to serve on a particular Committee or nominate to be Chair of a particular Committee there will be an opportunity for you to express your desire. With a larger number of clubs to service, more Rotarian resources are required. The Expression of Interest form will allow Rotarians to record up to 3 preferences.

If you ever wanted to serve at a District level but never saw an opportunity..... this will be your chance as we prepare to move forward together.

School of St. Jude

Dear All at Rotary Club of Murray Bridge,
Greetings from The School of St Jude!
The Form 6 National Examination results have now been released and we are delighted to report that Magdalina Yusufu Mhando has achieved Division I.

For your reference, the table below shows the performance scales that the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) uses to score examination results.

Division I
Outstanding Performance
Division II
Excellent Performance
Division III
Very Good Performance
Division IV
Poor Performance
Division 0
Fail

This result means Magdalina has passed and is well positioned to pursue her chosen career path as a graduate of St Jude’s.
We are very proud of Magdalina’s wonderful achievement, which is due in large part to the support you have provided towards her academic scholarship at St Jude’s. Graduating from Form 6 in Tanzania is a truly impressive milestone to celebrate.
Thank you All at Rotary Club of Murray Bridge for your generosity and support for Magdalina’s education over many years. Your commitment to our vision of educating the future leaders of Tanzania has been inspiring!
