Meeting Report
Sharon Harris DON
Director of Nursing of the Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital Sharon Harrison was the guest of the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge at their Zoom Meeting this week. Projects are born out of these type of discussions and the Club has been keen to support the Hospital again particularly in these difficult covid times. Sharon includes specialised emergency nursing and midwifery as part of her experience. Murray Bridge is part of the government's local health network and has 42 beds, an operating theatre with visiting specialists from Metro Adelaide, helipad facility for emergency patient transfers, 4 Chairs for chemotheraphy, 4 Chairs for dialysis, an emergency unit, and delivers an average of 230 babies a year. It is currently undergoing an upgrade with $2 million being spent on a sterilisation unit and $7 million on an Emergency uprade. The New Emergeny Department is due to be opened before Xmas with state of the art equipment including camera technology to connect with Adelaide. Bridge Clinic supports the hospital. Hospital staff have had input into the developments. The walls outlined in the photo are planned to have significant murals including local aboriginal art. Equipment needs discussed included another vital signs monitor particularly for Covid 19.
MMI 204km Run
Whilst most normal and sane people were sleeping...
Summited Mt Lofty to record an attempted FKT (Fastest Known Time) in the Teams Self-Supported Category after setting out from Cape Jervis at 0600am on Friday.
In a time of just under 45 hours and distance of 204km in length and over 6200m of elevation, the Heysen Trail from Cape Jervis to Mt Lofty is both rugged and stunning.
Is undoubtedly a true gem. To my team mates Owen Jones, Rurik Symon and Beau Griffiths, thanks for being best bunch of lads a person could ever want to hang out with and adventure together, you are all truly inspirational. Even though one of us didn't make the finish line it was a team effort to organize and encourage each other in this massive undertaking.
For a bit of fun :)
