Fantastic Vocational Visit to Aussie Apricots in Mypolonga with the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge Rotarians and friends last night. Our hosts were Paul and Kathy Prosser and their daughter Jay who is the fifth generation of Prossers in Mypolonga since 1915. They are a tight knit community of orchadists, contractors, fuel distributors, exporters, wine distributors and now into confectory and tourism. Aussie Apricots was started by Kathy and Paul some 15 years ago and value adding has been a key to their success. They sell to all states

in Australia, Paul has built and modified machinery to improve productivity and Kathy has developed 40 or so different products. They use about 1.3 tons of chocolate each month. 2,000 apricot trees have been planted in the last three years. Our second area of interest was to see the two Motor Museums and Cinema that they have restored. Paul has been an avid collector of high performance cars since he was 18 with a Corvette LHD he imported from America. The other collection is of Antique Cars, Motor Bikes, a Fordson tractor and including a Gordon Car seen here wirh our own Rotarian Gordon Schultz who took an instant interest. Also an old Nursery Truck used by the Wicks Family from Balhannah. Henry Wicks was born in Kent in 1854, was apprenticed to Sutton and sons Nurseries Redding England and later found his way to Balhannah in 1905. The Prossers are also restoring the old farmhouse building to convert it to a Mypolonga History Museum.
