Meeting Report

Rotary Quiz Night on Tuesday was a lot of fun and a learning experience. Conducted by Rotarian Gordon Shultz with two Quizes and a Complete These Sayings Cryptic Quiz to test the brain cells. You know that there are 10,685 beaches in Australia and it would take you 29 years to visit them all.

Art festival to celebrate 20 years of Murray Bridge Regional Gallery

MURRAY Bridge's Sixth Street arts precinct will be packed with art workshops, demonstrations, live music and roving entertainers, as well market stalls food trucks on Sunday, April 18 as the Big Little Art Fest hits the heart of town.

The free event will help celebrate the 20th anniversary of Murray Bridge Regional Gallery and, according to the organiser, this is year's annual Little Art Fest is set to be bigger than any other.

Murray Bridge Regional Gallery director and event organiser Fulvia Mantelli said the event would make up for having to skip both Little Art Fest and Sixth Street Handmade Makers Market in 2020.

"(The) Big Little Art Fest will offer creative workshops for all ages, from three to 103 year-olds," she said.

"There will be market stalls with handmade arts and crafts available ahead of mother's day. Also, the Gallery and The Station have collaborated to transform the Railway Terrace carpark into a hub of hiphop music, dance and aerosol art for and by young people."

She said the festival workshops would include pottery, mosaics, botanical painting, cartooning, zine-making and weaving, for the little ones there will be chalk art and wearable art among others.

"You can just drop in to most of the workshops and you can book on the day for others ... ee're encouraging families to come early and make a full day of it, there really is something for everyone," she said.

"The Gallery will also be hosting two wonderful exhibitions: Domestic Arts by acclaimed SA artist Sera Waters, and That Old Stuff by celebrated regional-based artist Lyn Wood."
