Well done to everyone, we required a quick change of venue as our original visit needed to be postponed. Swanport Hotel was selected by Rotarian Jack Reddin PP, with the theme being a relaxed social evening which I feel was appreciated by all attending listening to the conversations and laughter. Meals ordered off the menu and well done to the kitchen, delivered in quite a record time with everyone enjoying their choice. I presented Rtn Gordon Schultz PP with a “Create Lasting Impact” pin for the great work provided as the MC at our recent changeover dinner, this is part of the previous weeks presentations and my way of showing the appreciation I have for the extra support from members when required. Rtn Jack finished off the meeting with a challenge for a few of us to talk for app. 1 minute about somewhere we had been which was memorable, lots of fun listening to the stories and a great way to finalise our evening.
Vocational Visit to Carpet Court has been locked in for the 18th of August 5:45pm for a 6:00pm start.
Behind the scenes this week has seen a couple of achievements:
Tuesdays Board Meeting we confirmed the promulgation complete for our two new Members proposed by Rtn John Scarvelis PP, we welcome to our Rotary Club of Murray Bridge Rtn Brayden George and Rtn Karl George. There is still the final process to be completed with an official information session to be delivered shortly, followed by an Induction Ceremony at a Club Meeting. Please if you don’t know Brayden & Karl, introduce yourself, I am excited to hear their story “who am I”. These two young men have a life long connection to Murray Bridge, our Rotary Club and they will assist us moving into the future in “Service Above Self” through Rotary.
First Responders App: Rtn Samuel Cozens PP thank you and well done for your quick action, from an email request I forwarded on Friday morning 17th July by midafternoon we are now registered to assist with funds toward the “Rotary First Responder Mobile App Project”.
Organised through Rtn Chad Horton Rotary Club of Modbury Golden Grove, with-in a few weeks of this project’s commencement, there have been some exciting developments.
The project was recently featured in the July edition of Rotary Down Under Magazine, (page 24-25) which has raised significant attention and support.
Rotary Down Under Inc has generously contributed $15,000 to help drive the project forward.
Bunnings SA & NT has committed to supplying all BBQ consumables for Rotary fundraising events on 28 October – National First Responders Day. This includes sausages, bread, onions, drinks, napkins and more.
That means every dollar your club raises can go directly towards developing the app, while making your club's BBQ fundraiser for this cause easier to run.
Thank you, Rotarians, Partners and Friends, for a great week.
